Kids …

Being able to capture how people really are with each other is one of the greatest fringe benefits of being a photographer. Nothing is so rewarding as when the parents say: "But that's the way they are". Thank you Laura and Kendra. – Lucy too.

A beacon of warmth in the cold night …

This is a photo of the Beard & Boyd Insurance building in Amherst, NH, all decked out in Christmas decoration and holiday lights. In the larger version, you can see the lights sparkle, showing little star shapes. Looks very welcoming, I feel.

Buckwheat’s Gluten Free

Gluten Free products are not only for people who can’t tolerate the gluten protein. They are also considered healthy and should be part of a balanced diet.
This local bakery launches gluten free breads, muffins and pizza pies. I think it will take off like a wild fire.

Certified Professional Photographer

Back in April I took a test administered by the Professional Photographers Association of America. Well, – I passed. Then they wanted to see my body of work, which I submitted mid of October. Today I received my certificate. stating that I am now a Certified Professional Photographer. Whoo hooo!
The Professional Photographic Communication Commission writes:
When you hire a photographer, you want the best—but ensuring that you get the best photographer for the job can be a difficult task. That is where we can help.
As the leading certifying agency for imaging professionals, the Professional Photographic Certification program is recognized throughout the industry. When you see a photographer displaying Certified Professional Photographer seal, you can be sure that he or she is among the less than 3% of all imaging professionals who have successfully completed and maintained our requirements.
Those who have earned the Professional Photographic Certification have passed a comprehensive written exam measuring their technical expertise, and have successfully submitted their work to a panel of judges for review and approval.
Every five years, a photographer must renew his or her credentials by participating in continuing education programs and periodically submitting work for critical evaluation. This helps assure you that certified photographers maintain their level of expertise and continue to develop new skills and techniques.

Lilly …

I photographed Lilly as one of the neighborly things In do every week, with the Good Mojo dog center right next to my studio. Denice usually puts the photos on her blog, to keep her clients updated. This week though, I captured Lilly sitting all by herself. As a dog owner myself, she struck something within me. I just think she is the most adorable little thing.
