METHODOLOGY
Challenge convention.
With conventional (film) photography, once the photographer hits the shutter release, his job is done. But in the digital world, when you hear the “click”, the photographer’s job is only about 30% complete. And, this is good. Because at Catching-
1-Moment, we’re selling dreams. Our goal is to start with a good photo and through digital editing, make it an awe-inspiring one.
We use Photoshop and other tools to go into the image and remove skin blemishes, enhance the natural color or the eyes and lashes, push the color saturation on the lips and maybe even whiten the teeth.
Control the environment.
Do the film purists like it? Not really. But our customers do. We find that our methodology relaxes the subject. They don’t have to worry about every hair being in place or that unwelcome blemish that always pops up at the wrong time. They can just relax knowing that we’re going to … well, we’re going to make them hot.
This reassurance puts them at ease so that we can really go to town with our expertise in posing, lighting, props, sets etc. We control the environment and the mood and we showcase your best features. We accentuate the positive … and make you look like you do on your very best day.
Deliver more.
Many photography studios treat events such as senior class photo time like a cattle call where they bring the subjects in, pull down a backdrop and “click” … one after another … as quickly as possible to maximize their profits.
Catching-1-Moment takes time to get to know you and ask you what you would like to get out of the session … and just how far you’d like to go in terms of using our digital editing skills. This conversation usually occurs in advance of the shoot so that we can take some time to think about color, composition, lighting, props … anything that will help us to deliver exactly what you want … a fabulous photo (or series of photos).
