COMMERCIAL SHOTS ... OUR REASON FOR BEING

This is how we do it.
Since a need for dynamic industrial shots was the impetus for our inception, we pride ourselves on crisp magazine cover quality photos. Just check out the October 2006 issue of Tooling & Production Magazine.

The rigs used to take these photos vary from shoot to shoot … depending on whether we’re on location or in our own studio. The one thing that remains consistent is our ability to produce amazingly high resolution, 23-megapixel shots … color-corrected to the dot.

More often than not, we return to our tried-and-true Hassleblad digital platform because it delivers the most exquisite image quality … based solely on the quality of their lenses. We’ve tried many different rigs, but we always seem to return here because it takes the best pictures..

Say "Cheese!" Big Cheese.
Commercial photography is a broad category ... from food and product shots to industrial equipment photos. And then there's corporate headshots. It can be a challenge to make the head muckity-muck pose long enough to an image that helps to wow the media and reassure devoted investors. Because of this, we work closely with you to understand your needs and objectives and then suggest ways to make even the “mundane” look exciting and new (of course we’re not insinuating that the big cheese in the corner office is mundane … you know what we mean). We’ve found that dramatic lighting, color coordination, unique angles, reflection, and set design can all be leveraged to convey the dynamic nature of a new product … or breath life into an older one.

In the case of corporate headshots, we tend to lean away from the “behind the desk talking on the phone” motif. And again, lighting, as well as different angles and perspectives can make all the difference. With some planning and a bit of luck, we can make the most stoic appear approachable and the feeble seem like power players..

It's not all apples to apples.
Not all food photography is created equal. There are tricks of the trade that can make food look even better than it really is. And good food photography gets you to bite (pun intended). Anyone knows that the mystery meal coming out of the microwave doesn’t always match the picture on the TV dinner box. Strangely enough, the tricks that make food look yummy aren’t always that appetizing. Did you know that the bowl on most cereal boxes is filled with glue rather than milk? That’s because real milk appears blue and translucent when photographed … plus, if the shot takes a while the cereal gets soggy. Well, we can’t give you all our secrets … just remember to call Catching-1-Moment when you need a photo of your office, your product, your equipment … or even your Big Kahuna.
